Update from Lucy 👋
I'm thrilled to share that we've moved our office to a new location - the vibrant Health Tech Quadrant in the Arts Centre on 2 Worcester Boulevard. Our new home is a beautiful blend of creativity and innovation, and we're so thankful to be part of it.
The journey of these buildings is nothing short of inspiring. They've been lovingly restored over the last 13 years after the Christchurch Earthquakes. We'll be sharing more about this amazing restoration journey below.
On a personal note, being here feels like a beautiful full circle moment for me. Growing up in Christchurch, I have warm memories of this place. From court theatre visits to crafty weekends making jewellery from the bead shop, to spending my pocket money on way too much delicious fudge from Fudge Cottage. Now, to be back here, growing a company in the very same spot, is a feeling I can't quite put into words. I'm filled with a sense of gratitude and excitement for the journey ahead.
Secondly, I am absolutely thrilled to announce our first webinar! We all know the power of great imagery in marketing, right? It's not just about looking pretty - it's about telling your story, capturing your brand's spirit, and connecting with your audience in a meaningful way.
With that in mind, this webinar will be all about diving deep into the world of MidJourney, an AI-powered image generator that's revolutionising the way we use images in our storytelling.
We’ve created some truly striking catalogues of AI-powered stock images for our amazing clients using this tool. And the best part? We get to show you how you can do it too! Click here to register, or to find out more keep scrolling.
Lastly, we ran an in person AI workshop for a large group of laywers at Buddle Findlay this week- the feedback was that it was the best turn out for a seminar than they have had in years. Which goes to show the interest in AI and the desire for people to understand more and become educated. It was a great session!
Until next time,
Lucy

Where Arts meets Technology
Welcome to our new home at Contented AI! It was heartbreaking when the Arts Centre was ravaged by the earthquakes, but it has risen from the ashes to become the home of the Health Tech Innovation Centre (among many things)—a now buzzing hub for health innovators. Our space hums with creativity and innovation. Here's why:
Heritage Inspires Hope
Our base is in a beautifully restored historical building - a symbol of resilience, triumphing over the trials of earthquakes. It feels like it is silently cheering on health innovators that they too can conquer challenges and make a difference.
Awe-Inspiring Atmosphere
Imagine walking into a space where history and innovation coexist harmoniously. The high ceilings, intricate details, and remarkable craftsmanship of the building create an atmosphere that whispers, "Dream big!"
Stories That Ignite Imagination
This unique spot isn't just any building. It's the actual place where Ernest Rutherford, the New Zealand-born father of nuclear physics, studied during his time at Canterbury College. Our neighbouring clock tower, which houses the den, contains the very rooms where Rutherford worked his magic. One of them is even a beautifully restored Victorian lecture theatre.
Rubbing Shoulders with Innovators
Fast forward to today, we’re rubbing shoulders with incredible innovators in the very same place. From Komodo Wellbeing's novel approaches to student health and wellness, to Myovolt's exciting work in wearable technology, our co-working space is teeming with brilliant minds and innovative spirits.
So, as we settle in and get down to work, we're keeping our past in mind and our sights set on the future. Because that's what we're all about here at Contented AI - learning from what came before and using it to build a better future.

News stories: Good, bad and the wacky 📰
👍 Good - AI to detect infant blindness
A recent AI-led breakthrough could pave the way to more effectively detect a leading cause of blindness in children. In a study published last month in The Lancet Digital Health, an international team of scientists and clinicians revealed how they had developed a deep learning model to identify which at-risk infants have retinopathy of prematurity (ROP). The AI tool that was trained using thousands of images of the eyes of newborns “was found to be as effective as senior paediatric ophthalmologists in discriminating normal retinal images from those with ROP”.
👎 Bad - AI defines ‘ideal body type’ according to social media – here’s what it looks like
A new study by The Bulimia Project, a New York-based website that publishes content and research related to eating disorders, investigated how AI perceived the “ideal” body based on social media data. The results, produced by AI-generated imaging tools such as Dall-E 2, Stable Diffusion and MidJourney, showed widely “unrealistic” body structures, as reported in a discussion of the findings on The Bulimia Project’s website.
🐕Wacky- Decoding animal language
AI and machine learning has long helped analyse and translate human language, but now researchers are making major steps in decoding how animals communicate, which experts say could significantly advance ecological research and conservation efforts. California-based non-profit Earth Species Project (ESP) is using AI to identify patterns in large data sets of visual, oral and physical animal communications. CEO and co-founder Katie Zacarian told the World Economic Forum earlier this year that with the progress being made, “we are moving rapidly toward a world in which two-way communication with another species is likely”.
This Week’s AI-ified Characters: Romeo and Juliet
ChatGPT, how would Romeo and Juliet have used AI if it were available?
In an alternate setting where Romeo and Juliet existed in a world with AI technology, they would have leveraged various advancements to aid their forbidden love. They could have utilised AI-powered communication devices to exchange messages discreetly, employing natural language processing to compose passionate and poetic expressions of their affection. Additionally, AI might have assisted them in gathering information, providing access to databases and search engines to navigate their families' histories, find legal loopholes, or seek guidance on defying societal expectations. Facial recognition technology could have protected their identities during secret meetings by helping them avoid detection.
Contented updates 👥
Our recent adventures and collaborations
First off, we took the AI discussion to Buddle Findlay and hosted a workshop for a room full of sharp-as-a-tack lawyers. The feedback was that it was the best turn out for a seminar than they have had in years. Which goes to show the interest in AI and the desire for people to understand more and become educated. It was a great session!
Looking ahead, we've got our sights set on the World AI Summit in Amsterdam this October. It's one of the biggest events in our industry, and we can't wait to be part of it. Plus, we're going to make a quick hop over to London and catch up with some new clients – work and travel, two birds, one stone.
On top of all that, we've also kicked off a new project with an incredible Nurse Practitioner. The goal? To streamline their case study creation and exam materials. It's a fresh challenge, and we're loving every minute of it.

ChatGPT IOS version
What can it do?
ChatGPT IOS (Android isn’t yet available) is the same as the desktop version. It makes chatting with ChatGPT on the go much easier.
Why do we love it?
It has a voice command function. You can now effortlessly record your thoughts on important business ideas, debrief after client meetings, and even ask it to provide insightful summaries.
How to get started?
Download from the app store today! Beware of the pesky other “ChatGPT” apps that aren’t officially developed by OpenAI,

For all the music lovers out there!
You: I want you to act as an expert song recommender. I will provide you with a song and you will create a playlist of 10 songs that are similar to that given song. You should also provide a name for the playlist.
Do not choose songs that are the same name or artist. Do not write any explanations or other words to explain your findings. Just reply with the playlist name, description and the list of songs.
ChatGPT: Sure, I can do that, what song would you like me to use?
